Deacon George Dardess will speak on Loving the Migrant: Challenge and Reward
George Dardess, Dean, Blessed Sacrament parish, is a consultant on Migrant Ministry as well as on Interfaith and Ecumenical Affairs for the Diocese of Rochester. He is Chair of Rochester's Commission on Muslim Christian Relations and a member of the Muslim Catholic Alliance, the group called by Bishop Clark to implement the terms of the historic 2003 agreement between the Diocese of Rochester and the Masajid of Rochester, NY.
With a PhD in English Literature and a Masters in Theology, George gives talks, retreats, courses, and workshops here in the Rochester area and around the US on Muslim-Christian dialog and has recently published two books on the subject: Meeting Islam: A Guide for Christians (Paraclete Press) and Do We Worship the Same God?The Qur'an and the Bible Compared (St. Anthony Messenger Press). He and his wife, Peggy Rosentahl are presently collaborating on a book tentatively entitled Reclaiming Beauty for the Good of the World: Muslim and Christian Creativity as Moral Force.
