This ministry enriches the giver as well as the receiver. Shawls are knit or crocheted for a variety of reasons such as illness, death of a loved one to those of friendship, caring and celebration. Members meet from 1:00 to 2:30PM on the first Wed. of each month usually in the Parish Living Room. At this time, we do not have an evening session; however, we will start a Wed. evening session as soon as we have enough people interested.
If you don’t crochet, lessons will be provided to anyone who wants to learn. Please do join us! Each color of the yarns has special meanings. For example; red for energy, strength, love & courage and green for healing harmony, safety, hope, protection. Shawls are blessed once per month. If you cannot make the meetings you can still be part of this wonderful ministry and knit from home. Patterns are available.
If you are a caregiver of someone who is ill or know of someone who needs a prayer shawl because of illness or grieving please call Joyce Fishberg at 425-8038 or e-mail jafish@frontiernet.net
